Tehran, 21 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami has reaffirmed the country’s military readiness, saying Iran’s armed forces will not hesitate to defend the country’s independence and territorial integrity. In a statement, Hatami said Iran’s armed forces and people had demonstrated resilience and resistance in the face of threats from adversaries. He warned that any attack on Iran’s security, sovereignty or territorial integrity would receive a decisive response. The Iranian army chief said the nation had remained united in resisting aggression and hostile actions during recent conflicts, while the armed forces had relied on their faith, experience and capabilities to safeguard the country’s sovereignty. Hatami said Iran’s armed forces were fully prepared to defend the country across all domains, including its airspace, land and maritime borders. He stressed that the military would remain committed to protecting Iran’s independence and national interests and maintaining readiness to respond to any threat. His remarks came amid heightened regional tensions and continued concerns over Iran’s security environment, as Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasised the country’s military preparedness and determination to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
