UNITED NATIONS, 21 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He was received at Kennedy International Airport by Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai and senior officials of the Pakistan Mission and Consulate General. During his visit, Dar is scheduled to participate in OIC meetings, including the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, where he will highlight Pakistan’s position on the right to self-determination of Kashmiris. He will also attend high-level meetings on Palestine, artificial intelligence, pandemic preparedness and other international issues, and will chair the ECO Council of Ministers meeting. Dar is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts and accompany the prime minister during high-level engagements. During his meetings, he will highlight Pakistan’s efforts for regional and international peace and stability and exchange views on key regional and global challenges.
