Dar Calls for Dialogue for Lasting Regional Peace

ISLAMABAD, 16 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar called for dialogue and diplomacy to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East during a meeting with United States Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker in Islamabad on Tuesday. According to the Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed Pakistan-US bilateral cooperation and recent regional developments. Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the sustainable means of achieving lasting peace. The renewed hostilities have once again disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies. Pakistan has consistently emphasized diplomacy and dialogue as the sustainable way forward and urged the parties to return to the framework established under the June agreement.
