Iran Vows to Continue Resistance Until Aggressors Face ‘Complete Regret’

TEHRAN 8 September, 2026(Ghufran): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed that Iran will continue its resistance with “full strength” until those responsible for aggression against the country are brought to “complete regret.” In a statement posted on social media platform X, Pezeshkian said Iran had consistently opposed war and believed that avoiding conflict was essential to protecting the interests of the Iranian people and maintaining regional security. “Iran has always opposed war and has considered the preservation of the people’s interests and regional security to lie in refraining from igniting conflict,” the president said. However, Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran would continue defending itself against what it describes as aggression. He said Iran had “boldly risen to defend against aggression” and would continue its resistance with full strength until the aggressors were brought to “complete regret.”The Iranian president also said Tehran would continue to act as a “guardian of the rights of the great Iranian nation.” His remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and an ongoing military confrontation involving Iran. Tehran has repeatedly maintained that its military actions are defensive responses to attacks against Iranian territory and interests. Pezeshkian’s statement reflects Iran’s position that, while it does not seek to initiate war, it will not back down in the face of continued attacks. Iranian officials have repeatedly said that Tehran seeks regional stability while reserving the right to respond to military action against its territory, people and strategic interests. The latest statement indicates that Iran remains prepared for a prolonged confrontation unless it determines that attacks against the country have come to an end.
