ISLAMABAD, 25 August, 2026(GHUFRAN): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said Pakistan was keen to elevate its economic relationship with Saudi Arabia into a mutually beneficial strategic economic partnership in line with the vision of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. A high-level Saudi business delegation, led by Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House.During the meeting, the prime minister conveyed his regards to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to expand economic cooperation and investment.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that Prince Mansour’s current visit would build on previous discussions and lead to the signing of memorandums of understanding and agreements across various sectors.

The Saudi delegation expressed interest in investment opportunities in agriculture, ports, highways, airport outsourcing, real estate, energy, power distribution and information technology. Welcoming the Saudi interest, the prime minister said the current time was highly opportune for enhanced cooperation between the two countries through both government-to-government and business-to-business initiatives.Prince Mansour thanked the prime minister for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Saudi government’s and business community’s continued interest in strengthening business-to-business engagement with Pakistan.The Saudi delegation is also holding meetings with senior government representatives and private-sector stakeholders during its visit to Pakistan.Federal ministers, advisers, the Minister of State, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and senior government officials attended the meeting.
