LAHORE, 25 August, 2026 (Ghufran): Preparations for celebrating the blessed birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are in full swing across Pakistan, with streets, markets, mosques and public buildings illuminated and decorated with green flags and colourful lights. Eid Milad-un-Nabi, observed on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow (Wednesday) with religious devotion and respect. The government has announced a public holiday on the occasion. Seminars, conferences and Mehfil-e-Naat gatherings focusing on the life, teachings and Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be organised in different cities. Religious processions and rallies will also be held at various locations.Tonight, mosques across the country will host special Milad, Durood and Salam gatherings, where religious scholars will highlight the blessed life, character and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Streets, neighbourhoods, markets and mosques have been decorated with green flags, colourful lights and decorative arches. Government and private buildings have also been illuminated, while special gateways have been erected along major roads and markets. Devotees have also prepared beautifully decorated models of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi as expressions of their love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Processions will be taken out in Lahore and other cities, with participants reciting Durood and Salam along the routes. Special arrangements have also been made for the distribution of food, sweets and other refreshments among participants and citizens. Religious scholars have emphasised that expressing love and devotion to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) goes beyond commemorating his birth anniversary, stressing that following his teachings and adopting his noble character is the true path to success in this world and the hereafter.
