ISLAMABAD, 25 August, 2026 (Nosheen): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave to review ongoing development work and assess progress on key infrastructure projects. During the visit, the minister inspected construction activities and directed officials to accelerate work while ensuring environmental protection and improved facilities for residents. Mohsin Naqvi reviewed progress on the boundary wall, remodeling of security checkpoints, and construction of cycling and walking tracks inside the Diplomatic Enclave. He directed that work on the boundary wall continue without interruption and ordered officials to ensure that no trees are cut during the development projects.The interior minister instructed authorities to develop the cycling and walking tracks according to modern planning standards to provide better recreational facilities. He also directed the concerned departments to widen roads in the area to improve traffic flow and accessibility.
Mohsin Naqvi asked the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to prepare a revised and comprehensive security plan for the Diplomatic Enclave. He said the security framework should meet current requirements while catering to the needs of diplomatic missions and residents. He also announced that parks in the Diplomatic Enclave would be restored and upgraded, with the government aiming to transform the area into a secure, well-managed diplomatic zone with improved public spaces and infrastructure. The minister directed officials to provide residents of the Diplomatic Enclave with facilities in line with international standards. During a briefing, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman apprised the interior minister of progress on ongoing development projects and future plans for the enclave. Officials also briefed him on construction timelines and implementation measures.Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officers were present during the visit and reviewed the progress of the development projects alongside the interior minister.
