Iranian President Calls for Stronger Iran-Pakistan Ties on Independence Day

Islamabad, August 14, 2026(Kamran Raja):Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for further strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, saying the shared interests and destinies of the two neighbouring countries have become more closely linked than ever.In his message on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, President Pezeshkian extended heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistani nation and described the day as an opportunity to acknowledge Pakistan’s achievements and further promote the longstanding ties between the two countries.He said Pakistan’s Independence Day provided a fresh opportunity to broaden and deepen the long-standing and strategic relationship between Iran and Pakistan.

President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to expanding comprehensive relations with Islamabad and said Iran was prepared to take further practical steps to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.Emphasising the importance of mutual trust and respect, he called on both countries to make greater use of their existing potential and shared opportunities to advance cooperation.The Iranian president stressed that closer coordination and cooperation between Iran and Pakistan had become more important than ever in view of their increasingly interconnected interests and destinies.President Pezeshkian also expressed his best wishes for Pakistan’s continued development, prosperity and progress, while praying for further strengthening of the fraternal and longstanding relations between the two brotherly countries.
