Islamabad, 14 August 2026(Kamran Raja): U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker has extended warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day.
In her Independence Day message, Baker, on behalf of the government and people of the United States, congratulated Pakistan on completing 79 years of independence and highlighted the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
She recalled that the United States was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan’s independence, saying that the two nations have since built an enduring partnership based on a shared vision and a commitment to the future.
The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires expressed particular enthusiasm for the upcoming milestone, noting that 2027 will mark the 80th anniversary of U.S.-Pakistan relations.
Referring to the Freedom 250 initiatives, Baker said the celebrations have highlighted not only America’s journey but also the shared commitment of the United States and Pakistan to peace, prosperity and innovation.
She emphasized that both countries are working hand-in-hand to build a more prosperous future and reaffirmed Washington’s continued commitment to Pakistan’s progress.
“As you celebrate today, know that the United States remains a dedicated partner in Pakistan’s progress,” she said.
Concluding her message, Baker extended Independence Day greetings on behalf of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Pakistan, saying: “Yaum-e-Azadi Mubarak!”
