LAHORE,12 August,2026 (Kamran Raja) : The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is set to host an AFC “A” Certificate Refresher Coaching Course from August 15 to 19, 2026, marking the resumption of advanced AFC coaching education in Pakistan after more than a decade.The five-day course will be conducted by Wisam Shamil Kamil of Iraq, an AFC Instructor, and will bring together 19 AFC “A” Certified coaches from Pakistan, including 18 male coaches and one female coach.The participants will have an opportunity to update their technical knowledge, exchange experiences and benefit from international coaching expertise.PFF Director of Coach Education Sajjad Mahmood described the return of advanced coaching education as an important step towards strengthening Pakistan’s football ecosystem. He said coach development was fundamental to the growth of football and that the refresher course would help establish a culture of continuous learning while providing Pakistani coaches with regular access to high-level technical education and international expertise.
The theoretical sessions are scheduled to be held at the PFF House Auditorium from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while practical sessions will take place at the Model Town C Block Football Ground from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The timings are tentative and subject to confirmation.Speaking ahead of the course, AFC Instructor Wisam Shamil Kamil said he was delighted to visit Pakistan for the first time and looked forward to working with Pakistani coaches. He praised their passion for football, noting that he had witnessed it during previous encounters with Pakistani coaches at coaching courses and Asian competitions. He expressed his eagerness to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas with the participating coaches.The resumption of the AFC “A” coaching programme is expected to provide a significant boost to professional coach development in Pakistan and contribute to the long-term strengthening of the country’s football structure.
