ISLAMABAD, 10 August 2026 (Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations late Sunday night with President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and former President of Guinea-Bissau General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, discussing regional developments and Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives.During the conversations, DPM/FM Ishaq Dar shared the contours of the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, highlighting its significance for strengthening strategic cooperation and contributing to regional peace, stability and security.Ishaq Dar and President Tshisekedi also exchanged views on Pakistan-DRC relations and agreed on the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including through high-level exchanges. The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to President Tshisekedi and the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
