
Islamabad, 1 August 2026 (Kamran Raja): Pakistan has welcomed the recent developments under the Board of Peace towards the implementation of the disarmament process envisaged in the Gaza Peace Plan, describing the progress as an encouraging step towards lasting peace and stability in the region. Pakistan appreciated the efforts of the mediating countries, including the United States of America, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye, for their constructive role in advancing the peace process. It also acknowledged the leadership demonstrated by President Donald Trump, noting that the progress achieved represents a significant milestone for the Board of Peace.
Expressing optimism over the latest developments, Pakistan emphasized the importance of translating the commitments made under the Gaza Peace Plan into concrete actions. It stressed that the successful implementation of the agreed measures would contribute to building confidence and advancing regional peace. Reaffirming its longstanding support for the Palestinian people, Pakistan expressed hope that the ongoing diplomatic efforts would pave the way for the realization of the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination through a credible, inclusive, and time-bound political process. Pakistan underscored that any lasting settlement must be consistent with international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and internationally recognized legitimacy. Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
