Islamabad, July 23, 2026(Ghufran): The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, in collaboration with Pakistan’s cultural institutions, officially launched the “Let Freedom Ring” Liberty Bell Exhibition at Lok Virsa Museum, marking a key event in the United States’ Freedom 250 celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus and Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, highlighting the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the United States and the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations.
As part of the initiative, the U.S. Mission to Pakistan’s Public Diplomacy Section, through its Lincoln Corners network, collaborated with 16 Pakistani artists from across the country to create hand-painted replicas of the iconic Liberty Bell. Each artist interpreted the theme “What does freedom mean to me?”, producing unique works that reflect Pakistani perspectives on freedom, creativity, and hope.
The exhibition will be open to the public from July 23 to July 27, 2026, at Lok Virsa Museum and the Pakistan Monument Museum, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the artistic interpretations and celebrate the shared values of freedom and cultural expression.
Speaking at the launch, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus said the Liberty Bell symbolizes the shared belief of Pakistan and the United States in the power of expression, art, and the freedom to imagine a better future. He praised Lok Virsa for preserving Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and expressed pride in showcasing America’s story of freedom alongside it.
Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi welcomed the exhibition, describing it as a meaningful reflection of the strong and evolving relationship between Pakistan and the United States. He emphasized that art and cultural exchanges serve as powerful bridges between nations, fostering mutual understanding and people-to-people connections.
The “Let Freedom Ring” exhibition forms part of the U.S. Mission Pakistan’s year-long Freedom 250 campaign, a global initiative commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence through programs celebrating the enduring values of freedom, innovation, creativity, and excellence.
