
Shanghai, July 16, 2026(Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Wang Yi, on the sidelines of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai.
The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja; Adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Mr. Ali Mustafa Dar; Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) Mr. Bilal Bin Saqib; Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Syed Asad Ali Gillani; and Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Beijing, Mr. Aizaz Khan.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan-China bilateral relations and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to further strengthening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Both sides emphasized the importance of advancing high-quality development under CPEC 2.0 and expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, science and technology, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence. They agreed that enhanced collaboration in innovation and emerging technologies would further deepen the strategic partnership and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the Chinese Foreign Minister also exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments. They reaffirmed their resolve to maintain close coordination on issues of mutual interest and continue working together to promote regional peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
The meeting underscored the enduring strength of Pakistan-China relations and reflected the two countries’ shared commitment to innovation-driven development, technological advancement, and deeper strategic cooperation.
