Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Meets Acting Governor of Makkah Region; Welcomes Pakistan–Saudi Cricket Cooperation

Jeddah, July 3, 2026(Kamran Raja): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region, in Jeddah to discuss matters of mutual interest and growing cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by the Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, the Governor of Taif, Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, and distinguished members of the Saudi Royal Family. During the meeting, the Acting Governor warmly welcomed the recently signed agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation, describing it as an important milestone in strengthening sporting ties between the two brotherly countries.

Prince Saud bin Mishal also appreciated the decision to construct the first international-standard cricket stadium in Jeddah, noting that the project would contribute significantly to the development of cricket in the Kingdom and further enhance Saudi Arabia’s sporting infrastructure. The Acting Governor discussed the proposed stadium project with the Pakistan Cricket Board and expressed his support for its successful implementation in the Makkah Region. He emphasized that the initiative would promote sports cooperation, encourage youth participation, and open new avenues for collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Saudi leadership for its continued support and hospitality and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across diverse sectors, including sports. He expressed confidence that the cricket partnership would further deepen the longstanding brotherly ties between the two nations.
