Melody Queen paid tribute on death anniversary
A musical evening titled “Sada Hoon Apnay Pyar Ki” was held today to pay tribute to Melody Queen Noor Jahan on her death anniversary under the management of Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA). Renowned singers Sitara Younas, Bano Rehmat and Gulshan Jahan presented famous songs and ghazals of Madam Noor Jahan including ‘niyat e shoq bhar na jae kahi , pyar naluoon pyaray sajna ’ ‘tarana ’, and ‘Gaey gi dunya geet mery’ while Ustad Raees Ahmed was give a violin performance. “Personalities like Noor Jahan are born in centuries and Pakistani film industry is blessed to have the name of these personalities connected to it. Such artists are the academy of performing arts within themselves and no one can replace them,” said Ayub Jamali, Director General, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA). Dance group of PNCA performed on the songs of the legendary singer to pay homage to her. The program was appreciated by the audience.
