Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Meets Saudi Defence Minister in KSA, Discusses Regional Security and Iranian Attacks

KSA, 7 March 2026(Kamran Raja): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) where he met with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman, the Defence Minister of the Kingdom.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the gravity of the prevailing security situation in the region, particularly in light of the Iranian drone and missile attacks on the Kingdom. The two sides deliberated on joint measures required to counter such threats within the framework of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between the two brotherly countries.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both sides emphasized that such unprovoked aggression undermines ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring regional security and stability and diminishes prospects for the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The leadership also expressed hope that the brotherly country Iran would demonstrate prudence and sagacity in the current situation to avoid any miscalculation. They stressed the importance of strengthening the hands of friendly countries that are striving for a peaceful settlement of the crisis and the promotion of stability in the region.

The meeting reaffirmed the deep-rooted strategic partnership and close defence cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
