London, Wednesday, 18 February 2026(Ghufran): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan for carrying out a successful intelligence-based operation against terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khwarij in Quetta. In his statement issued from London on Wednesday, the Prime Minister praised the professionalism, bravery, and swift action of CTD personnel, which resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists during a fierce exchange of fire. He noted that the timely and decisive response of the CTD thwarted the nefarious designs of the militants and prevented potential loss of innocent lives. The Prime Minister also expressed deep concern over the injuries sustained by three CTD officials during the operation. He prayed for their swift and complete recovery and paid tribute to their courage and dedication in the line of duty. He directed the relevant authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured personnel.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that CTD Balochistan has been playing a prominent and commendable role in the fight against terrorism. He reiterated that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its security and law enforcement agencies in the ongoing struggle to safeguard peace and stability. He underscored that operations against terrorist elements will continue until the complete elimination of the menace, and those involved in acts of violence against the state and its citizens will be brought to justice. The Prime Minister concluded by honoring the sacrifices of the country’s law enforcement agencies and reaffirming the Government’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace and security across Pakistan.
