Riyadh, January 05, 2026(Kamran Raja): Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, on Monday launched the electronic portal for Saudi nonprofit organizations at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh. The launch ceremony was attended by representatives of nonprofit organizations, along with several KSrelief leaders and staff members.
In his address, Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted that KSrelief was established through a generous initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and has operated under the close guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that the center has since evolved into a global humanitarian beacon and a testament to the Kingdom’s leading role in shaping the future of international humanitarian action.
Dr. Al Rabeeah reviewed KSrelief’s achievements, stating that the center has implemented more than 4,000 relief projects in 109 countries, at a total cost exceeding $8.276 billion. These initiatives, he said, represent countless stories of lives saved, families provided with shelter, and communities empowered to rebuild and recover.
He further emphasized that KSrelief’s efforts are strengthened by an integrated volunteer ecosystem that reflects the readiness and commitment of Saudi citizens to serve humanity. This ecosystem has carried out over 1,200 volunteer projects in dozens of countries, with a value exceeding $147 million, reinforcing the image of the Saudi citizen as a messenger of peace, compassion, and dedication.
Dr. Al Rabeeah explained that the launch of the electronic portal marks a new phase of empowerment, inviting national nonprofit organizations to join this strategic platform. During its initial phase, the platform has assessed and evaluated 50 local nonprofit organizations in line with the highest international governance standards, qualifying them as key partners in KSrelief’s overseas projects. These organizations have collectively implemented 229 humanitarian and relief projects and programs, and conducted 50,855 surgical operations in more than 20 countries, with a total value exceeding SAR 115 million. He stressed that these achievements demonstrate that rigorous assessment and qualification are essential pathways to impactful and sustainable partnerships.
Following the speech, attendees viewed a documentary highlighting the importance of integrating the efforts of Saudi nonprofit organizations in international humanitarian work. The film showcased how these organizations help project the Kingdom’s positive image through their humanitarian services, initiatives, and relief activities carried out worldwide under the umbrella of KSrelief.
Dr. Al Rabeeah then officially launched the electronic portal for nonprofit organizations. The portal, available in both Arabic and English, enables organizations to submit applications to KSrelief, obtain initial approval certificates, and operate outside the Kingdom. It also facilitates the implementation of humanitarian and relief projects, management of international volunteer programs, streamlining of procedures, enhancement of transparency, and strengthening of integration and partnerships in global humanitarian efforts.
