Defence Minister Visits Naval Headquarters, Receives Briefing on Maritime Security and Pakistan Navy’s Preparedness

Islamabad, 16 September 2025(News Desk): Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, visited Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, today and called on Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf. During the meeting, discussions were held on the regional maritime security environment and the operational readiness of Pakistan Navy.

The Naval Chief briefed the Defence Minister on prevailing maritime challenges and Pakistan Navy’s comprehensive preparedness to effectively respond to them. He also shared an overview of ongoing and future initiatives aimed at enhancing and modernizing PN capabilities.

The Defence Minister expressed keen interest in the recent inductions of advanced platforms and cutting-edge equipment, terming them a vital addition to strengthening Pakistan’s maritime defence. He appreciated the Navy’s critical role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests and assured the Naval Chief of the Ministry of Defence’s full support in meeting operational and developmental requirements.
