Doha: 15 September 2025(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit convened in Doha today, following Israel’s recent attack on Qatar. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar. The Prime Minister strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Qatar on 9 September and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the brotherly people of Qatar. Both leaders underscored the need for unity within the Ummah in the face of Israeli hostilities. The Prime Minister noted that the Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha had sent a clear and unified message from the Muslim world that Israel’s aggression would no longer be tolerated.
Recalling the recent visit of the Iranian President to Pakistan, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its relations with Iran in all areas of mutual interest. He also conveyed warm regards and deep respect for His Eminence Ayatullah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran. President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestine issue and expressed his desire to work closely with the Prime Minister to deepen bilateral cooperation. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in view of the rapidly evolving regional situation.
