Tianjin, China 30 August 2025(Kamran Raja): At the invitation of His Excellency President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister of Pakistan, His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, will lead Pakistan’s delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State (CHS) Summit and the SCO CHS Plus meeting, scheduled to be held in Tianjin, China, from 31 August to 1 September 2025.
The SCO CHS Summit will gather the Heads of State and Government of SCO member countries, including Pakistan, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The SCO CHS Plus Summit, convened in an expanded format, will also bring together leaders from Mongolia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Türkiye, Egypt, the Maldives, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, and Indonesia, as well as the Secretary-General of the United Nations and heads of key regional and international organizations.
At the SCO CHS Summit, Prime Minister Sharif will present Pakistan’s perspectives on pressing regional and global issues, with particular focus on strategies to enhance the SCO’s role in promoting peace, stability, connectivity, and shared prosperity in the region.
During the CHS Plus Summit, the Prime Minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism, regional security, sustainable development, and collective approaches to addressing common challenges.
On the sidelines of the Summits, Prime Minister Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of SCO member states and other invited countries to further strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic, economic, and security partnerships.
