TANK, 28 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Three traffic police personnel were martyred when armed terrorists opened fire on a police vehicle in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Following the attack, the bodies of the martyred officers were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. The attackers fled the scene, while police launched a search operation to track down those involved. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of the three police personnel. He paid tribute to the fallen officers and extended condolences to their bereaved families, assuring them that the government stood with them in their hour of grief. Naqvi said the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives in the fight against terrorism would not go in vain. The incident comes amid a series of attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A day earlier, three people were killed and three others injured in an attack in Lakki Marwat. Earlier, a suspected suicide blast and gunfire at a checkpost in Dera Ismail Khan reportedly left 12 people dead and 35 injured. On September 18, an attack during Friday prayers at the old police lines in Kohat claimed 21 lives and injured more than 100 people.
