The meeting of the Special Apex Committee was called by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). In addition to high ranking government officials, it was presided over by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and attended by Chief of the Army Staff, former Caretaker Prime Minister Mr. Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar, members of the departing and incoming Federal Cabinet, and Provincial Chief Ministers.
In a remarkable instance of smooth transition, the meeting’s sole purpose was to brief the Cabinet in front of the Caretaker Cabinet.
The Committee received an update on the SIFC programme and the significant contributions made to the country’s investments, privatisation, and general microeconomic stability.

The Committee appreciated Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision and June 2023 inauguration of the SIFC, which has since progressed from its early stages and is currently governed by the Caretaker Government.
The Committee emphasised that in order to address the numerous difficulties the nation faces, a cooperative strategy under SIFC must be maintained. The Committee further committed to maintaining policy continuity and making difficult choices that benefit the nation as a whole by establishing sensible economic objectives. In addition to congratulating Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Cabinet, and the Chief Ministers on taking up their new roles, the former Caretaker Prime Minister also wished them success in overcoming economic obstacles and elevating Pakistan’s economy to the top of the global rankings.

The Chief of Army Staff guaranteed that the Pakistani Armed Forces would assist the government’s economic efforts to the best extent possible and that a safe, secure, and favourable environment would be provided to foster the nation’s full economic potential. According to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Special Economic Corridor (SIFC) is the way to go in these difficult times, and serving the nation like never before requires iron will. In order to maintain the momentum of economic stability, he asked the Federal Cabinet to come together, set political differences aside, and function as a cohesive one. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Caretaker Government for appropriately continuing the wider National Economic Agenda.
