The deadline for illegal residents to leave Pakistan has expired, after which the government of Pakistan has started a nationwide operation to evict them. For the first time in the country’s history, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order for the expulsion of illegal residents to all provinces under the Foreign Act 1946. According to this decree, illegal aliens under investigation and convicted of minor crimes will be deported.

The Caretaker Government has warned that;
“Strict legal action will be taken if any Pakistani is found involved in harboring illegal immigrants after the deadline has passed.” The eviction plan will apply to all foreigners residing illegally in Pakistan, no country or nationality will be taken into account in the application of the plan. The security forces have completed the process of identifying illegally residing Afghans by mapping and geo-fencing

The process of identification of 2 lakh illegal immigrants residing in Sindh has been completed. Among the 3 lakh illegal Afghan citizens living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, those who do not return voluntarily will be taken in holding centers.
