LONDON, 25 August, 2026 (Ghufran): Tottenham Hotspur have signed Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City for a reported initial fee of £75 million ($102 million), taking the club’s total spending in the current transfer window beyond £300 million. The 22-year-old struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player during his two seasons at Manchester City. Tottenham are hoping Savinho will bring additional pace and creativity to their attack after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League last season. “It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here,” Savinho said in a Tottenham statement. “It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world. As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level and I believe we can do that together, as a team.” Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi played a key role in helping the club avoid dropping into the second tier of English football for the first time in 49 years after taking charge towards the end of last season. However, Spurs’ major spending campaign got off to a disappointing start as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brentford on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season. Savinho joins a growing list of expensive arrivals at Tottenham, including Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke. Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka have also joined the club on free transfers.
