Toronto, 1 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has praised Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh for his rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s iconic qawwali ‘Sanson Ki Mala Pe’ at London’s Wembley Arena. Dosanjh performed the classic qawwali before a packed and enthusiastic audience, winning widespread appreciation for his performance. Speaking ahead of his concert in Toronto on Sunday, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who learned music under the guidance of his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, said major artists often feel nervous when performing Nusrat’s songs, but praised Diljit for performing the piece with sincerity and doing justice to it to the best of his ability. Rahat said Diljit’s performance could be both seen and heard as a heartfelt effort and expressed his appreciation for the Punjabi artist. Diljit Dosanjh made history on September 12 by becoming the first Punjabi artist to headline a show at Wembley, one of the world’s major entertainment venues.
