Islamabad, 12 August 2025(kamran Raja): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with Huawei, successfully organized the Next-Gen Cyber Resilience Workshop and Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2025, bringing together senior government officials, industry leaders, and cybersecurity experts to address emerging digital security challenges.
The workshop featured in-depth discussions on the cybersecurity implications of Pakistan’s upcoming 5G rollout, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet deployment, artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, and the rapid expansion of FinTech services. Participants explored strategies to strengthen national cyber defenses, enhance industry preparedness, and promote cross-sector collaboration.
Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, commended PTA’s efforts in advancing cybersecurity, stating “Building a cyber-resilient Pakistan is not just a technological priority but a national imperative. The government is fully committed to supporting innovative solutions and robust security measures that safeguard our digital ecosystem.”
Chairman PTA, Maj. Gen. (R) Hafeezur Rehman, emphasized the strategic importance of cyber resilience: “Cyber resilience is the cornerstone of our digital future. PTA will continue fostering collaboration and innovation for a secure digital Pakistan.”
The event concluded with the Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2025, recognizing organizations and individuals for outstanding achievements in cybersecurity innovation, resilience, and leadership. This initiative reflects PTA’s commitment to working with both local and international partners to enhance capacity, share knowledge, and adopt cutting-edge security solutions that protect Pakistan’s evolving digital infrastructure.
