July 30, 2025(kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today received the Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Ms. Sadia Zahidi, in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s long-standing and productive partnership with the World Economic Forum, appreciating the WEF’s continued engagement with Pakistan, particularly through its annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed Ms. Zahidi on the remarkable economic recovery Pakistan has achieved over the past few years, highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth. He expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in deepening cooperation with the WEF, especially in areas such as economic development, gender inclusion, vocational training, and digitization.
Ms. Sadia Zahidi thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome extended to her during her visit. She acknowledged the positive economic trajectory of Pakistan and commended the reform initiatives undertaken by the current government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to further strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and the World Economic Forum to advance the global agenda for sustainable development.
