Islamabad 5 December 2025(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement issued on his official X account, extended warm congratulations to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on what he described as his historic appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces. In his message, the Prime Minister wrote that Field Marshal Munir, “as the sentinel of our nation’s security,” has played a pivotal role in guiding the Armed Forces in what he called a decisive victory in the “Battle for Truth.” He added that the people of Pakistan would remember his “bold and courageous leadership in war time,” which he stated had unified the Armed Forces, galvanized the nation, and secured what he termed a historic victory for the homeland.
The Prime Minister also felicitated Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu on the extension of his tenure. He stated that under Air Chief Marshal Sidhu’s exemplary command, the Pakistan Air Force “destroyed seven enemy aircraft and sophisticated missile defense systems with unmatched professionalism,” reinforcing Pakistan’s air superiority. Reaffirming national unity, the Prime Minister emphasized that all state institutions stand united for the defence, development, and prosperity of Pakistan. He concluded his message with a note of resolve:
“InshAllah together, we will make our country’s defence truly invincible.”
