Islamabad, 24 July 2025(Kamran Raja): The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr today to discuss matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, President Zardari underscored that Pakistan deeply values its longstanding and all-weather friendship with China and is committed to further enhancing cooperation in diverse areas including trade, economic growth, culture, and regional connectivity.
Highlighting the vast potential for collaboration, the President emphasized the importance of working together to advance peace, security, and prosperity in the region. He noted that China has consistently stood by Pakistan in times of need, and the people of Pakistan are grateful for this steadfast support. President Zardari also appreciated China’s significant role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development and expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their continued support, particularly in infrastructure development and economic cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
On the occasion, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong conveyed a special birthday message from President Xi Jinping, extending warm greetings and best wishes to President Zardari on his upcoming birthday, reflecting the close personal rapport between the leadership of the two countries. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to further deepen their strategic partnership and strengthen people-to-people ties, ensuring continued progress and stability in the region.
