(PCAA) 32nd E-Court held

The purpose of e-Kachheri is to redress their grievances related to the airport. Director General CAA Mr. Khaqan Murtaza presided over the event. He listened to people’s queries and issued instructions to solve the problems. Participation of Additional DGCAA, Director Airport Services, Director Personnel Licensing. Director HR, Director SQMS, Director Operations, Director Commercial and Estate were also present. Director Engineering Services, Additional Director Air Transport Bay also accompanied the DGCAA.

About 42 questions/issues including Quetta Airport Runway Project were raised. Questions regarding Personal Licensing Exams at Gwadar International Airport, Islamabad. Questions related to bringing drone camera to Pakistan and taking it abroad, quota appointment of children of deceased employees whose parents died in 1999. Questions about tenders for meet and assist services, questions about arrival of unvaccinated passengers to Pakistan. Interview Dates for CAA Latest Recruitment Complaints/issues regarding return/claim of lost baggage against M/s Airblue airline were also included.

Controversies were also held on porter charges and poor management issues at Lahore International Airport. Questions were also raised about the delay/cancellation of M/s Serene Air flight from Peshawar International Airport, immigration/deportation issues faced by an Afghan national while traveling domestically in Pakistan. The issue of reviving the branded gift shop at the International Departure Lounge at Lahore International Airport was also raised.

Issues such as rush and inconvenience faced by passengers at Skardu Airport, expansion of Lahore Airport Passenger Terminal, cargo canteen operation and business related mismanagement and harassment were also discussed. In view of rising fuel prices, management of flight activities, setting up of counters for the convenience of passengers with multiple baggage bags etc. was also proposed. Issues related to civil aviation employees; various PCAA contractors and related recruitment issues were also heard. Director General PCAA answered most of the queries on the spot and directed the concerned constituencies to resolve the issues related to their respective fields on merit as soon as possible.  He also emphasized that excessive time should not be taken while dealing with queries from general public/passengers.  E.
