
Rawalpindi, September 29, 2025(Ghufran): The Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) organized an awareness walk in front of the Rawalpindi Press Club to mark World Heart Day. The event drew participation from PANAH members, civil society representatives, students, teachers, health professionals, and media personnel, who carried placards and banners emphasizing the importance of protecting heart health.
Addressing the participants, Major General (R) Masud Ur Rehman Kiani, President PANAH, stressed the urgent need for lifestyle changes to safeguard heart health. He urged citizens to exercise regularly, avoid unhealthy foods, manage stress, and undergo periodic medical check-ups.
Mr. Sanaullah Ghumman, General Secretary PANAH, reaffirmed the Association’s mission to protect Pakistanis from cardiovascular diseases. He noted that the walk was part of PANAH’s broader awareness campaign and called on the government to introduce robust legislation to curb the consumption of unhealthy foods, which are a leading cause of heart disease.
Other speakers echoed the importance of preventive measures, highlighting that adopting a healthy lifestyle is critical to reducing the growing burden of cardiovascular illnesses in Pakistan.
World Heart Day serves as a global reminder to prioritize cardiovascular health. Through this initiative, PANAH reinforced its long-standing commitment to building a healthier future for the people of Pakistan.
