ISLAMABAD, 1 November, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Pakistan has welcomed a statement by the US Secretary of State and expressed its willingness to support sincere efforts by the United States and other friendly countries to facilitate dialogue between Islamabad and Kabul. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, meaningful negotiations require a clear commitment from the Afghan Taliban authorities to take concrete and verifiable action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory. The spokesperson stressed the need for effective measures against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) and other militant organisations based in Afghanistan. Pakistan considers addressing the presence and activities of these groups essential to creating an environment conducive to meaningful and productive engagement between the two countries. The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to constructive engagement with Afghanistan, but emphasised that such efforts must produce tangible progress in resolving Islamabad’s legitimate security concerns. Pakistan’s position underscores that diplomatic dialogue must be backed by verifiable action against militant groups to promote lasting peace and stability in the region.
