Pakistan Set Multiple T20I Records Against Sri Lanka with Record-Breaking 215-Run Total

Rawalpindi, 11 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Pakistan set multiple records in the second T20 International against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, powered by outstanding batting performances from Maaz Sadaqat and captain Sahibzada Farhan. Pakistan scored a record 215 for three in 20 overs, their highest T20I total on home soil, surpassing their previous best of 208 for three against the West Indies in Karachi in 2021. The total also became Pakistan’s second-highest score in T20I cricket overall, behind their 232 for six against England in Nottingham in 2021. Pakistan also recorded their highest-ever T20I total against Sri Lanka, eclipsing their previous best of 212 for eight at Pallekele during the 2026 T20 World Cup. Maaz Sadaqat led the innings with an impressive 96 off 51 balls, hitting six fours and seven sixes, narrowly missing out on a maiden T20I century. Captain Sahibzada Farhan continued his excellent form, scoring 73 off 44 deliveries, including four fours and five sixes, to register his second consecutive half-century in the three-match series. Fakhar Zaman contributed 22 off 17 balls, while Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 19 off nine deliveries, including a four and a six, providing a late boost to Pakistan’s total. The record-breaking performance strengthened Pakistan’s position in the series and highlighted the team’s strong batting form against Sri Lanka.
