Pakistan Government will do everything possible to facilitate Chinese investors



Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammed Shehbaz Sharif assured that the government will not jeopardise the safety of Chinese workers in Pakistan. The Pakistan Government will do everything possible to facilitate Chinese investors to further expand ongoing projects, the Prime Minister said in a meeting with the Shanghai Energy Group delegation led by Chairman Wu Lei.

He called on Chinese Companies to switch from foreign electricity to domestic coal and increase their investments in coal mining. At the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed about the projects carried out by Shanghai Power Group. Stating that he has good relations with China, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan wants to further develop friendly relations and strengthen economic cooperation with the country. Shanghai Power Group was currently working on the development of the Thar
coal mine and 1320 MW power project. It was informed that Shanghai Electric Group is one of the major companies operating within the scope of the China Economic Corridor in Pakistan. Thar Coal projects developed by the Group achieved an annual turnover of approximately Rs 400 million. Chairman of Thar 1 Energy Company Meng Donghai, Minister of Economy Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister of Energy Sardar Awais Khan Laghari attended the meeting. 'Oil Dr Musaddik Malik, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Muhammad Jahanzeb and senior officials attended.
