CHARSADDA, 28 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the state will fulfill its responsibility to maintain law and order, and anyone taking the law into their own hands will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. Naqvi made these remarks during his visit to the Federal Constabulary Training Centre in Shabqadar, Charsadda, where he reviewed special training exercises of the Anti-Riot Wing. The minister appreciated the personnel for their professional skills, modern training and operational preparedness. He witnessed practical exercises focused on crowd control, protection of sensitive locations, handling violent situations and maintaining public order. The interior minister said peaceful protest was the right of every citizen and the law clearly defined the procedure for holding protests. However, he stressed that violence, vandalism, damage to public or private property and disruption of public order could not be allowed under the guise of protest. He said the government would not allow anyone to undermine peace, stability and law and order in the country and highlighted the important role of the Federal Constabulary in maintaining security and public order. Naqvi urged FC personnel to complete their training with dedication and maintain a high level of professionalism.

He said modern protective equipment meeting international standards was being provided to improve their safety and operational capabilities. He also directed authorities to provide gas masks to all personnel and emphasized comprehensive training to deal with different challenges. During his visit to the FC headquarters, the minister announced improved sports facilities, including the construction of an international-standard swimming pool. He also visited the barracks, interacted with personnel and inquired about their concerns. Naqvi directed the reconstruction of all washrooms at the FC headquarters and reviewed the electricity issue raised during his previous visit. Personnel informed him that uninterrupted electricity was now available and thanked him for resolving the issue. The interior minister also directed immediate measures for the treatment of cancer affecting the mother of an FC official. A briefing informed him that trainees at the centre represented all provinces as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. For the first time, 35 women personnel were also included in the training programme.The Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, Deputy Inspector General Training, District Officer FC and other senior officers were also present during the visit.
