ISLAMABAD, 26 August 2026 (Kamran Raja) — Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of 14 newborn babies in a tragic fire at the nursery of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). In a message posted on social media platform X, the former prime minister said he was deeply saddened by the loss of 14 innocent children in the tragic incident. Nawaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the grieving parents and prayed for patience and strength for the bereaved families. He urged the government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident and immediately identify those responsible. He also called for strict action against anyone found negligent.The PML-N leader stressed the need for effective measures to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring again in the future.
