NEW YORK, 11 September 2026 (Kamran Raja): Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has warned social media trolls that she will quit Instagram if anyone posts a negative comment on her newly launched account. The 36-year-old actress made her public Instagram debut on Wednesday, quickly attracting more than 1.8 million followers. In her first video, Lawrence directly addressed potential trolls, saying she was giving Instagram a try but would immediately leave the platform if anyone posted anything negative or mean. Fans responded with messages of support, with Emily in Paris actress Lily Collins, Chicken Shop Date star Amelia Dimoldenberg and Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp among those interacting with her posts. Lawrence explained in her Instagram bio that she chose the handle “jlaw” because her full name was already taken. She also shared a humorous warning on her Instagram Story, writing that mean or aggressive comments could negatively affect “the baby”, before jokingly clarifying,
“It’s me. I’m the baby.” Lawrence rose to prominence with her acclaimed performance in the 2010 independent drama Winter’s Bone, which earned her nominations at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards and Academy Awards. She became a global star after portraying Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise alongside Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Her other major credits include X-Men: First Class, Silver Linings Playbook, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress, and the 2025 psychological drama Die My Love. In 2018, Lawrence founded her own production company, Excellent Cadaver, which has produced several films in which she also starred, including Causeway in 2022 and No Hard Feelings in 2023.
