Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Meeting with U.S. Acting Ambassador Discussed Bilateral CooperationIslamabad, August 21, 2025(Kamran Raja): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with U.S. Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad today. The two sides discussed a wide range of issues, including Pakistan-U.S. relations, counterterrorism, and counternarcotics cooperation.

Ambassador Baker congratulated Minister Naqvi on being conferred with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz and conveyed her best wishes. She also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives caused by recent rains and flash floods in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, extending condolences to the bereaved families.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts for sustainable global peace, noting that by preventing multiple conflicts, including between Pakistan and India, President Trump rendered a valuable service to humanity. He also expressed hope that President Trump’s initiatives for ceasefires in the Russia-Ukraine and Gaza conflicts would bear fruit. Minister Naqvi further highlighted that Pakistan-U.S. relations had expanded and deepened during President Trump’s tenure, reaffirming that Pakistan welcomes all efforts in favor of peace.

Ambassador Baker reiterated that Pakistan remains an important partner for the United States and emphasized that Washington attaches great importance to its relations with Islamabad.
