Former Lt Gen Faiz Hameed Sentenced to 14 Years Rigorous Imprisonment After Field General Court Martial: ISPR

Rawalpindi, 11 December 2025(Kamran Raja): The Pakistan Army today announced the conclusion of Field General Court Martial proceedings initiated on 12 August 2024 against Mr. Faiz Hameed, formerly Lieutenant General, under the Pakistan Army Act. The process extended over 15 months, involving comprehensive legal scrutiny.

The accused was tried on four charges:

  • Engaging in political activities,

  • Violating the Official Secrets Act in a manner detrimental to the safety and interests of the State,

  • Misuse of authority and government resources, and

  • Causing wrongful loss to individuals.

Following exhaustive legal proceedings, the Court found the accused guilty on all charges. He has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment, and the verdict was formally promulgated on 11 December 2025. The Field General Court Martial ensured complete adherence to legal procedures. The accused was granted full legal rights, including representation by a defence team of his choosing. The convict retains the right to appeal before the relevant forum. Additionally, matters pertaining to his alleged involvement in fostering political agitation, instability, and collaboration with certain political elements are being addressed separately.
