
Rawalpindi, 14 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, during his two-day official visit to Pakistan. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security situation and prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations in the security domain. Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening institutional linkages between the security institutions of Pakistan and Lebanon and enhancing mutual cooperation. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with Lebanon and expressed a desire to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of common interest. Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professional capabilities and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism. Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in the security sector, with a focus on shared interests and regional stability.
