
New York, 17 July 2026 (Ghufran): Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, interacted with members of the Pakistani-American community at a community reception held in Purchase, New York, during his official visit to the United States. Addressing the gathering, Professor Ahsan Iqbal shared the Government’s vision for sustainable economic growth, youth empowerment, and transforming Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy. He highlighted the vital role of overseas Pakistanis as key partners in Pakistan’s development journey through investment, innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge exchange.
The Minister appreciated the valuable contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in supporting Pakistan’s economic progress and strengthening people-to-people linkages between Pakistan and the United States. He emphasized that the Government remains committed to engaging with overseas Pakistanis and creating opportunities for their greater participation in national development.
The reception provided an opportunity for a constructive exchange of views on matters of mutual interest. Members of the Pakistani-American community shared their perspectives and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan–United States relations and contributing to Pakistan’s socioeconomic development.
