Addressing the participants of the meeting, the Prime Minister announced that instead of passing on the reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the international market to the consumers, this money will be used to double the N-25 (Chaman-Quetta-Qalat-Khuzdar-Karachi Highway) of Balochistan so that the people of Balochistan can get the best travel facilities. The Prime Minister directed that the national highway should be renovated to the standards of a motorway. Moreover, the same savings will also be used to complete Phase 2 of the Kachhi Canal, which will irrigate hundreds of acres of land in Balochistan province and bring prosperity to the province and the entire country. Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti, who was specially present at the federal cabinet meeting, thanked the Prime Minister for the project of renovation of N-25 and other development projects for the people of Balochistan.
The federal cabinet, on the recommendation of the Petroleum Division, approved an amendment to the Petroleum Products (Petroleum Levy) Ordinance, 1961. This amendment will increase national revenues.
The Federal Cabinet, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance, approved the Sustainable Investment Sukuk Framework for the issuance of domestic securities by the government. This framework will be helpful in issuing Sukuk for domestic sustainable investment, under which projects related to sustainable environment and renewable energy can be funded. This framework will prove to be an important milestone in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, Nationally Determined Contributions 2021 and the National Adaptation Plan 2023.
The federal cabinet approved sending the bill to Parliament for the establishment of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority on the recommendation of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
