Islamabad, September 8, 2025(Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, today addressed as Chief Guest the Curtain Raiser Ceremony for the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), scheduled to be held in November this year. In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism, parliamentary diplomacy, and the peaceful resolution of disputes in line with the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter. Highlighting Pakistan’s recent election to the United Nations Security Council (2025–2026 term), the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the country’s leadership role in advancing climate justice and its strong advocacy for reforming the global financial architecture to ensure fairness and equity for developing nations.

The Deputy Prime Minister further noted that the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference enjoys bipartisan support and serves as a crucial platform for dialogue, trust-building, and enhanced cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government. He expressed confidence that the forthcoming ISC will not only strengthen Pakistan’s democratic credentials but also contribute meaningfully to promoting regional and global parliamentary engagement.
