RAWALPINDI, 23 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has vowed to defeat terrorism and its perverted ideology with the unwavering support of the people of Pakistan, reaffirming the country’s commitment to eliminating the menace of terrorism. Field Marshal Munir made these remarks during his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he paid tribute to the sacrifices of the people of Pakistan, particularly the Shuhada and Ghazis of the security forces, who have rendered invaluable services in the fight against terrorism. During the visit, the COAS and CDF was briefed on the prevailing security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed in the province. Field Marshal Munir commended the high morale, professionalism and dedication of officers and troops, directing them to maintain constant vigilance and the highest standards of operational readiness to effectively counter emerging threats. He underscored that the campaign against Indian-sponsored terrorist outfits would continue with full force, reiterating that the security forces would strike terrorists wherever they are to ensure the country’s security and stability. Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, the COAS and CDF was received by Commander Peshawar Corps.
