QUETTA, 5 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Quetta Garrison on Saturday and reaffirmed that the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Balochistan remain a top priority for the state. His visit comes amid a recent rise in terrorist activity across the province, including attacks in Pishin and Chagai and counterterrorism operations in Mastung, Kalat and Sibi. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir was received by the Quetta Corps Commander upon arrival and was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and ongoing measures to maintain peace and stability across Balochistan.The CDF emphasised that a stable and secure environment is essential for advancing development initiatives, creating economic opportunities and improving the prospects of the people of the province. He reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Balochistan.
