LAHORE, 11 August, 2026(Nosheen): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director High Performance and selection committee member Aqib Javed has dismissed reports that middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam is being considered for a late inclusion in Pakistan’s Test squad for the ongoing England tour.Speaking to the media, Aqib Javed clarified that there was no truth in reports suggesting Kamran Ghulam would join the national Test squad in England, adding that no such proposal was currently under consideration.Kamran Ghulam, 30, has represented Pakistan in six Tests and 11 ODIs. He made his Test debut against England in Multan in October 2024 and made an immediate impact by scoring 118 runs off 224 deliveries while batting at No. 4. He has so far scored 312 Test runs at an average of 28.36, including one century and one half-century. In ODIs, he has accumulated 210 runs at an average of 30, with one century and one fifty.
The right-handed batter last represented Pakistan in a Test against the West Indies and an ODI against New Zealand in 2025. He is currently playing domestic cricket for the Pakistan Gold squad in the National Champions Cup, being held in Multan from August 11 to 18.Pakistan are currently touring England for a three-match Test series, with Babar Azam leading the side in his second assignment as Test captain since returning to the role. The tour is Pakistan’s first Test series in England since 2020 and forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.The first Test is scheduled to be played at Headingley in Leeds from August 19 to 23, followed by the second Test at Lord’s from August 27 to 31.
