United Nations,11 March 2025( Kamran Raja): Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, paid a farewell call on UN Secretary-General H.E. António Guterres.
Ambassador Akram underscored the need to strengthen multilateralism with the UN at its core and commended the SG’s leadership in advancing sustainable development, highlighting the need for reforms in global financial institutions, reviewing peacekeeping operations and fostering consensus on the implementation of the Pact for the Future.
Ambassador Akram also expressed gratitude for the SG’s support to the Pakistan Mission in promoting shared objectives.
The Secretary-General, in turn, lauded Ambassador Akram’s outstanding contributions to multilateral diplomacy and extended his best wishes for the future.
