Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to UN peacekeeping amid growing challenges during a briefing at the Pakistan Mission to the UN. Ambassador Munir Akram highlighted the increasing threats faced by UN peacekeepers and emphasized Pakistan's active involvement in discussions on the future of peacekeeping. He noted Pakistan's pride in over six decades of participation, with 235,000 Pakistani peacekeepers having served in 48 missions. Ambassador Akram stressed the need for peacekeeping to be part of a broader strategy addressing conflict root causes and reiterated Pakistan's readiness to collaborate with member states and the UN.
